2005-06 Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellows

Greg Folsom, M.D.
Orthopaedic sports medicine fellow Greg Folsom, M.D., earned a bachelors of science degree in chemical engineering with honors from Georgia Tech. He completed his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and his orthopedic surgery residency the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also provided medical coverage for high school and collegiate athletes. He is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His special medical interests in sports medicine include arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction and prevention and treatment of skiing injuries.

Michael Marger, M.D., M.P.H.
Orthopaedic sports medicine fellow Michael Marger, M.D., M.P.H., earned his bachelors of science at the University of California, San Diego, in animal physiology and neuroscience and a masters in public health in epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health in Los Angeles, Calif. He completed his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine, New York State American Program in 2000 and his orthopedic surgery residency at the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2004. He has additional experience in clincal outcomes research from the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center affiliated with the UCLA School of Medicine. He is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His special medical interests in sports medicine include advanced techniques in shoulder and knee reconstruction, with an emphasis in outcomes research of the shoulder and prevention of injuries in the throwing athlete.
